Admission Requirements

  1. Relevant bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree with at least one applicable biological subject as a major or Bachelor of Environmental Health with specialisation in environmental management
  2. A weighted average of at least 60% in the biological science or specialisation modules at final-year level

Selection Process

The 3 candidates who meet the admission requirements and with the highest merit point score calculated as follows, will be admitted:

  1. Academic merit (25%)
  2. Honours degree or four-year bachelor’s degree specialising in environmental management (20%)
  3. Completed FLG 322 at UP or any other tertiary courses on occupational health and safety (15%)
  4. Registered at the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions or other professional body (PB) (15%)
  5. Motivation letter (10%)
  6. Scholarship/sponsored/nominated (5%)
  7. Workplace relevance (10%)

Duration of study

1 year, full-time.
