NEWS AND EVENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT PRIVATE LAW

• Prof Trynie Davel, the head of the department, served as acting judge in the Transvaal Provincial Division of the High Court from April to June 2008.
• Professors Jan Bekker (honorary professor in the Department) and Johan Scott visited the Catholic University, Leuven in Belgium for purposes of research during May and June 2008 respectively.
• Professors June Sinclair (honorary professor in the Department), Trynie Davel, Neil van Schalkwyk and Anton van der Linde will attend the 13th World Conference of the International Society of Family Law in Vienna, Austria during September 2008.
