Message from the Chairperson

Dear Postgraduate Students,

On behalf of the Onderstepoort Postgraduate Student Association (PGSA), it is with humility and honor that I welcome our new and returning postgraduate students to the faculty as we begin 2026. It is a privilege to serve as your chairperson and to be part of such a dynamic group of academics, researchers, and innovators.
Postgraduate study is both a privilege and a challenge. It requires perseverance, resilience, and creativity. At the same time, it offers opportunities to shape knowledge, drive change, and make a lasting impact. The PGSA is here to be your advocate, voice, and partner in creating an environment where every student feels valued, empowered, and included. We aim to enhance your postgraduate experience through research, academic workshops, and social and networking activities.
This year, our focus will be on ensuring your concerns are heard and addressed, creating spaces for connection, collaboration, and celebration of our diversity, offering opportunities for academic, professional, and personal development, and promoting balance and support for the challenges of postgraduate life.
Let us work together to make this an exceptional, unifying, and impactful year. I encourage you to take advantage of the resources available, engage actively with your peers and mentors, participate fully in PGSA initiatives, share your perspectives, and collaborate with us to create a meaningful and memorable postgraduate experience.

On behalf of the PGSA, I wish you a year filled with discovery, resilience, and achievements that leave a lasting mark.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us @ [email protected] and be sure to follow us on social media for updates on upcoming activities and events.

With gratitude and anticipation,
Tshenolo Mbaba
Chairperson, PGSA
