PSANA EXCO Meeting

1. Acceptance of previous minutes
The previous minutes was accepted by all the committee members

2. NAT house
New committee
A new committee was selected. The committee consists of 15 members. There are 2 vise chairpersons, portfolios for sport, rag, culture, welfare, marketing and social. The committee will have a meeting soon with the dean.

Soccer
A team of Biological Sciences consisting of 12 members will play soccer on Spring Day.

Cricket
Nobody responded to the invitation Craig sent out. If another cricket game is organized there will be strict regulations for example that every team should pay beforehand and no late cancellations.

3. Faculty Dinner
The dean is not on track with the planning of the faculty dinner. Craig did send the dean an email but the dean didn’t respond. Marelize will contact the dean for an appointment.
The Faculty dinner will be 21 October at the Pretoria Zoo in the Flamingo Hall. About 300 people are expected. Invitations will be sent to the dean, head of the department and administration staff. Prof. Crewe is also invited. From the dean upwards, don’t have to pay for the dinner.
The dinner will cost R200 per couple. Ticket sales will start over two weeks. The dinner will end at 24:00. There will be no after party. The dress code will be formal. A list of the music should be given to the DJ beforehand.

4. Registration of PSANA as a Postgraduate Graduate Faculty Committee
PSANA is register at the University of Pretoria. PSANA has decided not to be part of the SRC due to political problems within the SRC.

5. Disbandment of PSANA and re-election of new Committee
PSANA need a legal constitution before PSANA has an election. The constitution will be written according to the constitution of the NAT house. PSANA will contact the law department to verify the constitution.
At the moment the period for committee members is from April until end of March next year. However, the period of the committee members of the NAT house starts from August until end of July the next year. PSANA wants to align these to periods. Therefore the next period for committee members in PSANA will be from April 2005 until Aug 2006.
PSANA can create another portfolio for information about the NAT house. The member only needs to sit in meetings and convey information about the NAT house to PSANA
