PSANA EXCO Meeting

1. Faculty dinner
- PSANA should organize a faculty dinner for the undergraduate and postgraduate students on the 8 October 2003. The NatHouse HK will be announced.

2. PSANA Open Day
a) The Open Day will be in Sanlam Auditorium. The cost for the venue is R825. Marelize will book the venue.
b) PSANA Open Day will be open to all the 3rd year students. If there is space left in the auditorium, 2nd year students can join.
c) The Open Day will be advertise on:
- Official UP advertisements
- PSANA web page
- Faculty web page
- Faculty newsletter
- Ronald will make several posters. The posters will be distributed all over the campus.
d) The PSANA Open Day will start at 13:00
- Presentations: 13:00-16:00
- Cheese and wine: 16:00-18:00
- Braai: 18:00-late
e) Funds
- PSANA will receive R200 from every department
- PSANA wants to give a bursary of a R1000 if we can afford it (NutHouse may possible sponsor R500)
- PSANA is looking for a company who can sponsor the wine.
- Marelize will contact Roche, Inqaba and PPS for sponsorship.
- Craig and James will contact Merch for sponsorship (T-shirt/Membership fee?)
- Freddy will contact the marketing office to find out how much money are they willing to give
- Freddy will also construct a budget for the Open Day.
f) Program
- The 4 Heads of the School will each give a talk for 15 minutes.
- After the presentation from a school, a talk will be given from the industry
- Prof. Cloete will give a seminar on motivation and life skills
g) Name tags
- The students will receive a badge before they enter the Sanlam auditorium. Paula will try to obtain the names of all the students. On the nametag will stand: “Final Year Symposium 2004”
g) Displays
- The displays will be incorporated with the cheese and wine.
- Outside the Sanlam auditorium will be 19 tables for the departments. Prof. Stroh will send an email to every department.
- All the departments should be involve in the PSANA Open Day. If they don’t participate, PSANA will send their names to Prof. Stroh and he will fine them.
- At every departmental table should be a postgraduate represented student and the requirements for honours.
- There will also be one table for UP administration and Bursaries/Loans
- PSANA will try to get the tables and the tablecloths from Marie.

3. Business cards
- Marelize will get more information for printing business cards

4. Next meeting
- The next meeting will be on the 4th of June at 14:30. PSANA will first meet with all the departmental representatives. After the meeting, PSANA committee members will meet.
