Postdoctoral Forum
The Postdoctoral Forum is the official representative body for postdoctoral fellows at the University of Pretoria, dedicated to advancing their professional interests and well-being. The Forum provides a strategic platform for engagement, collaboration, and advocacy within the University’s academic and research environment.
Through curated events, seminars, and networking initiatives, the Forum promotes interdisciplinary interaction and career development, equipping postdoctoral fellows with skills and insights to enhance their academic and professional trajectories. It also serves as a key liaison with University leadership, ensuring that postdoctoral perspectives are appropriately represented and supported.
Postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to participate actively in Forum activities to fully benefit from the opportunities available and to enrich their experience at the University of Pretoria

To ensure active and inclusive representation, a new Postdoctoral Forum Committee is elected annually through a transparent and democratic process. The elected committee comprises postdoctoral fellows from various faculties and research fields, ensuring broad representation across the University. The committee is responsible for coordinating Forum activities, advocating for postdoctoral interests, organizing professional development initiatives, and facilitating engagement between postdocs and relevant University structures.
Through its rotating leadership, the Forum remains dynamic and responsive to the evolving needs of postdoctoral fellows, while fostering continuity, accountability, and collective participation within the postdoctoral community.
