We are thrilled to announce that students from the Department of Physiology have once again made us proud at the prestigious Health Faculty Research Day, held on the 28th and 29th of August 2024. This annual event brings together talented researchers and students from across the Faculty of Health Sciences to present their groundbreaking work and compete for top honors.

Our department had an outstanding showing, with students excelling in both oral and poster presentation categories:

• Best Doctoral Oral Presentation: Ms. Tarryn Randomsky took home the top prize, demonstrating excellence in her doctoral research and presentation skills.

• Best Poster Awards:

  • 1st Prize: Ms. Faith Ledwaba wowed the judges with her poster presentation, earning the top spot in the Honours category.
  • 3rd Prize: Ms. Hannah Prawde also impressed with her poster presentation, securing third place in the Honours category.
  • 3rd Prize: Ms. Yordanos Kebede achieved third place in the Masters category for her poster presentation.

• Emerging Academic Category:

  • 1st Prize: Ms. Maphuti Tebogo Lebelo was awarded first prize for her outstanding work, marking her as a rising star in the academic world.
