The PhysX Sub-House is a student-led community within the University of Pretoria’s Physics Department. We aim to create a space where physics students can connect, collaborate, and take a breather from the intensity of university life. Throughout the year, we host a range of events such as quiz nights, board game nights, mini lecture events and informal science conferences that encourage both fun and learning. Our goal is to build friendships, strengthen the sense of community within the department, and remind students that science can be social too.
We’re also passionate about giving back beyond the university. Through our school outreach programs, we visit local schools to share our love for physics, spark curiosity, and show young learners that physics isn’t just about equations, it’s about understanding the world around us.
