Outline biography:

Philippe Van haute studied philosophy in Leuven, Strasbourg and Paris (PhD 1987). He received his psychoanalytic training at the Belgian School for Psychoanalysis of which he was president from 2006-2009.  He worked as a psychoanalyst in private practice from 1992 until 2016. He is a full professor of philosophical anthropology at Radboud University (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) since 1992. He was a visiting professor at the University of Leuven (2009_2010) and at the University of Paris VII-Diderot (2018). He was a research fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (2010, 2011 and 2013) and writer in residence at Birkbeck college, London, UK (2014). He published mainly on contemporary European philosophy and on the relation between psychoanalysis (psychotherapy) and philosophy. Monographs in English: Against Adaptation.
