Anti-discrimination Statement

The department continuously explores ways to diversify our curriculum by striving to add more works by indigenous scholars from South Africa and the rest of the African continent, as well as by LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/gender diverse, intersex and queer) scholars, and other marginalized groups, in all our courses.

In addition, the department constantly reviews our curriculum, degree programme and course learning objectives and teaching practices in order to ensure that these objectives and practices reflect the priorities and support the educational needs of all of our students, with emphasis on all marginalised groups, including students with disabilities.

The department does not condone any form of misogynistic, misandrist, xenophobic or sexual harassment and subscribes to an open and transparent grievance procedure.
