New open‑access paper in Antibiotics: “Psychometric Validation of the Community Antimicrobial Use Scale (CAMUS) in Primary Healthcare and the Implications for Future Use”. CAMUS was tested in 1 283 South African PHC patients and revealed high rates of misconceptions (over three‑quarters believed antibiotics work for colds/flu) and common informal use, despite reasonable baseline knowledge. This locally validated tool now enables South Africa to monitor community drivers of antimicrobial use and design targeted, evidence‑based AMS interventions to help curb AMR at primary care level.
