Module content

Interdisciplinary module with a large Physiology component. 

  1. Intermediary metabolism (3 weeks) carbohydrate and lipid metabolism; protein and energy metabolism; vitamins and minerals. Integration of metabolism. 
  2. Control systems of the body (3 weeks). 
  3. Internal milieu (3 weeks) Water balance and blood physiology. Acid-base equilibrium, clinical haematology. Practical work: Human nutrition, anatomy/histology, haematology.
