| Module content | The module will include an overview of mathematics as the science of pattern and order and what it means to do mathematics in the Intermediate Phase. It will also highlight basic concepts that are useful in everyday life with specific reference to problem solving in everyday contexts. The four operations will be discussed against the background of the number system with particular emphasis on fractions, percentages, data handling and proportionality as well as the basics of financial mathematics. |
