The head and neck pathology programme was packed with exciting presentations and discussions particularly pertaining to the controversies in the WHO classifications of odontogenic and salivary gland neoplasms. World renowned expert Chris Fletcher provided an excellent overview of the recent changes to the WHO classification of soft tissue tumours whilst Pancras Hogendoorn discussed the new classification of bone tumours. Special emphasis was placed on the recent molecular advances most applicable to the practice of diagnostic histopathology. 

Professor Sonja Boy from our very own Department presented an oral free paper in which she outlined a simple, practical algorithm for the diagnosis of plasmablastic lymphomas which was well received by all.
