Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is an update regarding the activities at the University and developments related to the protest action taking place.

We recognise that you may be concerned for the safety of our students and we wish to reassure you that this is our first priority.

For this reason, the University remains closed at this stage. The beginning of lectures and the start of the academic year remain as planned. However, the first year orientation has been moved by one week and the programme is being revised accordingly.  Online registration continues and we are communicating with students on an ongoing basis.

The protest action related to insourcing of support services has continued since 11 January 2016 and discussions with the stakeholders are ongoing. We are working hard to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

We will keep you and our students informed of further developments. Please continue to consult the UP Website for updates.
