Images intended for use on the Web (eg for featured news articles, banner news articles, front-page resources or rotating banners for departmental homepages) should always be resized according to the sizes specified in the ZeroPoint content management system.
Webmasters can resize original photographs by using programs such as Photoshop, Paint or MS Image Manager. However, when these programs are used to edit images it should be borne in mind that each image should first be cropped until the required 'shape' is achieved. If the image is simply 'resized' to the desired pixel size, distortion/stretching of the image could occur, which should be avoided as it detracts from the visual appeal of the University’s website.
Should you require assistance with or training in the resizing of images that you would like to use on your website, please send an e-mail to [email protected] .
