This is only the second time that a UP staff member has filled this prestigious position. 

The President of the CMSA is elected by peers representing all specialities in medicine, substantiating Prof Lindeque’s role as an academic leader across the medical field and not only in his speciality. The CMSA enjoys worldwide recognition by other established and prestigious colleges, such as the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal Canadian College of Physicians and the Australia New Zealand College of Physicians. Holders with CMSA specialist qualifications are sought after the world over – a further testimony to the significance of the institution.
