Unbeaten Tuks 1 registered their 14th win in 15 matches on Saturday (5 February) by outplaying TUT 1. The 8 wickets win says it all.
Tuks now head the log with 86 points, 13 clear of CBCOB 1 is second spot.
Assupol Tuks 2 was on the receiving in its match against CBCOB 1, but is still favourably placed with 62 points (3rd) despite the defeat (lost by 96 runs).
Tuks 2 was also involved in the Knock-out League Semi-final (6 February) in which it was touch and go before. Tuks 1 came only 1 run short of winning the match!
Tuks 1’s bowlers, with GC Pretorius (3/6 in 3 overs, Maurice Aronstam 3/25 in 11 overs) at the helm, did the initial damage by limiting TUT 1 to only 98 in their innings.
It was easy pickings for the Tuks batsmen, who scored the winning runs in the 17th over. Francois le Clus 51*(49 balls) and Leon Nel 37*(43 balls) were the main contributors.
Assupol Tuks 2 v CBCOB 1
CBCOB 1 scored 264/8 in their allotted 60 overs, Tersius Gouws 4/58 in 11, Lovemore Manatse 3/66 in 13 overs. Tuks 2 scored 168 all out, Francois Louw 58(92), Ansius Vermeulen 41(92). Tuks 2 lost by 96 runs.
Assupol Tuks 2 v PHSOB 1 (Knockout league Semi-final)
PHSOB 1 scored 187/9 in 40 overs, 3/48 in 8 overs. Tuks 2 were bowled out for 187, Mario Correia 57. Tuks 2 lost by 1 run.
Assupol Tuks 3 v TUT 2
Tuks 3 scored 283/4 in 45 overs, J Wessels 96, Stuart Dixon 64, Riaan van der Merwe 60*. TUT 2 scored 201 all out, Quintin Jurries 2/12 in 4 overs, Ryan Stanbury 2/26 in 6 overs, Francois Schuld 2/39 in 7 overs, Deon Coertzen 2/29 in 4 overs. Tuks 3 won by 82 runs.
Assupol Tuks 4 v CBCOB 2
Tuks 4 scored 91 all out, Marnus van Schalkwyk 32. CBCOB 2 scored 94/1. Tuks 4 lost by 9 wickets.
Assupol Tuks 5 v Pretoria Cricket Club 3
Tuks 5 scored 276/3 in their allotted 45 overs, Mark Cappes 105*, Dirk Wessels 64. Pretoria 3 scored 126 all out, Colin Bond 4/17 in 6 overs, Mike Makins 3/28 in 8 overs. Tuks 5 won by 150 runs.
Assupol Tuks 6 v Irene Villagers 6
Tuks 6 scored 269/8, Waldemart Bodenstein 87, Tyron Coetzee 81. Villagers 6 were bowled out for 196 runs, Grant Nel 4/33 in 8 overs. Tuks 6 won by 73 runs.
