Motivation for Research in the Arts Therapies Symposium: 25 August 2018

The Arts Therapies  is an emerging profession in South Africa. A current priority is to develop and nurture a culture of research and writing amongst Arts Therapy practitioners. To this end we plan to host Dr. Barbara Wheeler to lead a "Research in the Arts Therapies" symposium.

Dr Wheeler is an internationally renowned author and teacher in the field of music therapy research. It is hoped that this symposium will stimulate research initiatives and result in future publications. Since Music Therapy is offered at the University of Pretoria it is envisaged that the symposium will benefit the Music Therapy training programme and the professional Music Therapy community.

It is envisaged that the symposium will be attended by 20-30 delegates. It will be hosted at the Music Education Building, South Campus.
