Having played a profound part in the history of South Africa for more than 100 years, the University of Pretoria boasts a lasting legacy that endures through a cluster of innovative and multidisciplinary services rendered through Enterprises University of Pretoria. Through this entity, various research solutions have translated to increased productivity and enhanced customer service excellence within any industry. With some of South Africa’s most acclaimed academics, research specialists and thought leaders, the Enterprises at UP team ensures that our clients continuously engage in ground-breaking knowledge transfer by shifting knowledge to insight. As part of this hub that provides industry services through the skills and knowledge at UP, is the Mining Resilience Research Centre (MRRC) which focuses on any mining related research. The MRRC functions under the Department of Mining Engineering and, along with tremendous mining expertise, knowledge and experience, brings multi-disciplinary and cross-departmental intellectual resources from within UP. Adding to this is the extensive industry network that has been formed over many years by the members and associates of the MRRC, which brings great amounts of value from outside UP’s borders.
As such, the MRRC is governed by the University of Pretoria and contractually regulated by Enterprises at UP. When taking on contract research, the MRRC has access to both UP-internal and external associates of the MRRC that it can draw on to enhance its expertise and the quality of its delivery.
