High school learners had the opportunity to visit the University during July to learn about what EBIT can offer them for a career. The learners visited the metallurgical engineering department to see how minerals processing is done using a spiral, as well as magnetic seperation. In addition, they witnessed how an alloy of lead and tin is harder than the two pure metals on their own.
Industry visits were also held. The learners visited CSIR, as well as Aerosud. They were able to see firsthand that metallurgical engineers play a vital role in the manufacturing industry.
