Message from the Director

The University of Pretoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Ntebogeng Sharon Mokgalaka-Fleischmann as the Director: Mamelodi Campus with effect from 1 July 2022.

Professor Mokgalaka-Fleischmann holds a BTech, MTech and DTech degrees in Chemistry, specializing in environmental analytical chemistry. She also has an MBA in Education Management.

She has worked in the higher education sector in different capacities for the past twenty-four (24) years and has held several management roles in this sector. The roles she held in higher education allowed her to gain substantial experience in curriculum development, strategy development and implementation, policy formulation and review, programme accreditation, review, and implementation, quality assurance, and the management of extended programmes. She currently holds the position of Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture at the University of Venda.

Professor Mokgalaka-Fleischmann holds a C2 NRF rating. Professor Mokgalaka-Fleischmann was one of the founding members of the Synchrotron Radiation Research Roadmap Implementation Committee (SRRIC) and the South African Chairperson for the South Africa Swedish University Forum (SASUF) Academic Advisory Committee for Climate Change, Natural Resources and Sustainability from 2019 to 2021. She is also a council member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and chairs the Qualifications Assessment sub-committee of SACNASP.
