TuksLaw Moot and Debating Society

Posted on April 11, 2011

The purpose of the Society is to assist with the development of law students in the Faculty of Law.

The Executive Committee of the Society is involved in the selection and coaching of TuksLaw teams, as well as the organisation of internal moot court competitions and debates.  In other words, a society for the students by the students.

Various TuksLaw teams have won some of the most prestigious moot court competitions over the past few years, including but not limited to the African Human Rights Moot Court Competitions, the Commonwealth Moot Court Competitions, the International Criminal Moot Court Competitions and the First Year Kovsies Moot Court Competitions.

The primary objective of the TuksLaw Moot and Debating Society is to plough back the talent and skills acquired in competitions to further develop aspiring lawyers and assist in moulding future litigators.
