Tshwaraganang Outreach

We are one another’s strength”. This quote by T.B. Joshua illustrates how we spent our Friday afternoon on 21 October 2011… being one another’s strength.

The Friday afternoon was spent at Tshwaraganang Outreach in Hammanskraal, this being Law House’s first community outreach visit, which sparked the first of many visits to come. Our journey started well, after a pleasant drive to Hammanskraal. When we arrived in Hammanskraal we had agreed with the Tshwaraganang Outreach house mother to meet at Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal. However, while waiting in “Jubilee” Mall for the house mother, we realized we had the wrong mall; we were at the Hammanskraal Mall instead. We had to go on an expedition to find the “correct” Jubilee Mall. Finally, we found it, and met with the house mother who led us to Tshwaraganang Outreach. Upon our arrival, there were smiles from all at Tshwaraganang Outreach. We introduced ourselves to the house mother who was delighted to have us there for the afternoon.

TuksLaw students that had journeyed along for the visit dispersed to play games such as netball, soccer and skipping rope. Subsequent to playing all the fun games, we prepared hotdogs and juice for the hungry and the thirsty. After the snack, clothes that had been donated by UP students were presented to those at Tshwaraganang Outreach. The house mother was thrilled and accepted the gifts.

It was now time to make our tracks back to Pretoria. We arrived back at school, having had a minor hiccup on the road – notwithstanding, we arrived safely. Thank you to all that came and supported us on our “first community outreach” visit. We hope to see you again on our next visits.
