Outreach to Kingdom Life Children’s Centre in Atteridgeville

Posted on April 17, 2013

Law House had its first community outreach to Kingdom Life Children’s Centre  in Atteridgeville. The Centre is a safe haven for 52 children, most of who are either teenagers from abusive homes, orphaned or neglected.

Twenty seven law students were warmly welcomed by the children’s dance and music group who played violin, piano and drums. We played a variety of games at the Centre, including skipping, soccer, Monopoly and tennis. This was followed by a delicious lunch of boerewors rolls and juice supplied by the students. We also donated clothes, cleaning materials, toiletries and toys.

We got to interact with the children and talk about life at the Centre and their plans for the future.

Overall it was a successful community outreach, not only for the children at the Centre, but also the law students who got to interact with each other and build new friendships.
