STUDY BURSARY & HAMPER PRIZE DRAWS

T E R M S   A N D   C O N D I T I O N S

The University of Pretoria will be hosting a virtual #ChooseUP information event on Saturday, 4 September 2021. This event forms part of the University's #ChooseUP campaign. For this awesome event, you have the opportunity to possibly win a bursary and/or some prizes. Read about these opportunities below:

NOTE: Winners automatically grant permission to the University of Pretoria to use their names, a photo or video of themselves in publications, news releases, online, and in other communications related to the #ChooseUP campaign and event.

STUDY BURSARY DRAW 1:
APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE RSVP'd FOR THE LIVE #ChooseUP EVENT ON 4 SEPTEMBER 2021

  1. Only students who received an invitation to the virtual #ChooseUP Event and have completed the RSVP form, will be eligible for this draw. Please ensure that you complete all the fields to qualify.
  2. Random electronic bursary draws will be performed using the database of students who have RSVP'd for the live virtual #ChooseUP event.
  3. RSVP’s must be received before or at the latest by 31 August 2021. RSVP’s received after 31 August 2021 will not be eligible for the draw.
  4. Winners will be drawn after the closing date of 31 August 2021; please take note of the closing date and time.
  5. Bursary winners will be contacted directly.
  6. Six (6) bursary winners will be announced at the end of the programme on 4 September 2021.
  7. Students who will be registering at UP as first-year students for the first time in 2022 and already have a student number are eligible for these bursaries.
  8. Bursaries are valid until the end of the registration period in 2022, and cannot be held over for studies that commence in 2023 or later.
  9. UP internal auditors will oversee the study bursary draw process.
  10. The student number and admission status of bursary winners will be checked prior to notifying them.   
  11. Only one (1) bursary per student is allowed.
  12. Bursaries are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  13. Winners are subject to the University of Pretoria’s admission and registration requirements, selection procedures and general bursary rules and regulations.
  14. The bursary amount may be used for payment of a students' registration fee (ie the initial fee of R5 000).
  15. The University of Pretoria's decision is final.

 

STUDY BURSARY DRAW 2:
APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE ALREADY PAID THEIR INITIAL FEE OF R5 000 BEFORE OR ON 4 SEPTEMBER 2021

  1. Random electronic bursary draws will be performed using the database of those students who have already paid their initial fee before or on 4 September 2021.
  2. Four (4) bursary winners will be announced on 10 September. Note: Due to a technical banking issue, the announcement date has been extended 30 September 2021.
  3. Students who will be registering at UP as first-year students for the first time in 2022 and already have a student number are eligible for these bursaries.
  4. Bursaries are valid until the end of the registration period in 2022, and cannot be held over for studies that commence in 2023 or later.
  5. Bursaries are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  6. UP internal auditors will oversee the bursary draw process.
  7. The student number and admission status of bursary winners will be checked prior to notifying them.
  8. Only one (1) bursary per prospective student is allowed in this draw.
  9. Winners of bursaries are subject to the University of Pretoria's admission requirements, selection procedures and general bursary rules and regulations.
  10. The University of Pretoria's decision is final.

 

STUDY BURSARY DRAW 3:
APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS WHO CORRECTLY COMPLETED THE UP STUDENT CONTRACT AND HANDED IT IN AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA ON OR BEFORE 4 SEPTEMBER 2021

  1. Random electronic bursary draws will be performed using the database of those students who correctly completed the UP Student Contract and handed it in at the University of Pretoria before or on 4 September 2021.
  2. Eight (8) bursary winners will be announced on 10 September 2021. Note: The announcement date has been extended to 14 September 2021.
  3. Students who will be registering at UP as first-year students for the first time in 2022 and already have a student number are eligible for these bursaries.
  4. Bursaries are valid until the end of the registration period in 2022, and cannot be held over for studies that commence in 2023 or later.
  5. Bursaries are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  6. UP internal auditors will oversee the bursary draw process.
  7. The student number and admission status of bursary winners will be checked prior to notifying them.
  8. Only one (1) bursary per prospective student is allowed in this draw.
  9. Winners of bursaries are subject to the University of Pretoria's admission requirements, selection procedures and general bursary rules and regulations.
  10. The University of Pretoria's decision is final.

HAMPER PRIZE DRAW 4:
APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE RSVP'd FOR THE LIVE #ChooseUP EVENT ON 4 SEPTEMBER 2021

  9. Only one (1) hamper prize per student is allowed.
  10. Hamper prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  11. Winners are subject to the University of Pretoria’s admission and registration requirements and selection procedures.
