Ms Hayes joined the Information Science Department in 2022 as an assistant lecturer. She is currently completing her Honours degree in Publishing at UP, focusing on sustainable alternatives to the mass production of trade books in South Africa. Part of her research was done on public libraries in South Africa that produced unique information about the current library system. She has a very deep love for nature and thus focuses her studies on how to protect it for future generations without the exclusion of producing vital publications in the trade industry. 

Achievements: Ms Hayes is the current holder of the Nick Parren Scholarship. She will attend the London Book Fair in 2023 as part of the scholorship. She was also the top achiever in her third year group
