Mr LJ van Zyl whom last year recently graduated for his master’s degree in Humanities Education which he studied at the University of Pretoria with the Faculty of Education has been selected out of 65 high profile applications from all five (5) continents to be one of 25 students from around the world whom will participate in the 7th intake for a master’s degree (M.A.) in Olympic studies at the German Sport University Cologne. “I am very excited about this awesome opportunity and cannot wait to get onto the plane to Cologne” said the South African record holder whom clocked an unbeaten 47.66 seconds on 400 meter hurdles at the Tuks Athletics stadium and in the Czech Republic. Mr van Zyl is looking forward to the challenge of having to travel to Cologne for over five (5) times as this degree programme consists of six (6) modules and a thesis over two (2) years, which the three time Olympic athlete has to complete in order to achieve his master’s degree and be counted amongst the world from the prestigious institution.
