Short Biography:

Research Associate in the Department of Historical and Heritage Studies. She was previously HOD of the Division Tourism Management in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. Her research focusses on the role of air transport in tourism, tourism distribution, corporate travel and tourism competitiveness. She has published in numerous journals and her books on Tourism Distribution and Tourism Management in South Africa have been widely prescribed. She has received the Laureate Award from the University of Pretoria for her contribution to educational innovation and is a past Board member of the International Federation for Information Technologies in Travel and Tourism (IFITT).  She holds a doctorate in Communication Management.

Current Research:

Her recent research areas cover a range of contemporary tourism topics such as destination competitiveness, the impact of rhino poaching on tourism, technology in tourism and business travel.
