ENSO-neutral is favoured throughout this forecast period. While parts of southern Africa received large amounts of rainfall during the first ¼ of December, the seasonal forecast models remain pessimistic about favourable rainfall conditions for the remainder of the mid-summer period. As such, predominantly unfavourable rainfall conditions are expected during the larger part of summer over the summer rainfall regions. However, rainfall conditions may improve towards autumn.
