Andeline dos Santos
Andeline dos Santos is a registered Music Therapist. She holds both MMus(Music Therapy) and MA(Psychology) degrees from UP. Her research interests are aggression and empathy with outh at risk, diversity, and research methodologies. As a music therapist she has worked in the areas of childhood speech and language impairment, autism spectrum disorder, and childhood emotional adjustment difficulties. She has also worked with adults experiencing substance abuse disorders and gang membership. She has co-edited the books ‘Taking music seriously: Stories from South African Music Therapy’ and ‘Research Methodology: Business and Management Contexts’. Andeline has recently completed a five-year term as the Arts Therapies representative on the Health Professions Council of South Africa. In addition to teaching at the university she has been involved in training other health care practitioners and community care workers to utilise the arts within their work.
