South African Law Teachers Conference 2018

Posted on August 13, 2018

Three of the Law Clinic’s staff members attended the South African Law Teachers Conference in Cape Town from the 11th – 13th of July 2018. Helene Davidtsz, Prosper Nkala and Samantha Yell. “The conference was exciting and educational. It was an opportunity to get relevant legal updates in an engaging manner and we are definitely looking forward to attending and contributing in future conferences”.

Prosper Nkala received great feedback for the paper that he presented “The impracticalities and injustices of the bilingual courts in South Africa". Many people were interested in his paper and gave a lot of positive feedback to assist with developing the paper into more than one paper.

Helene Davidtsz presented a thought provoking paper that was well received “The role of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 in achieving the socio-economic transformation of credit law in South Africa”.  For the three of them it was an opportunity to showcase the Law Clinic as well as to build a professional network.
