All applications for admission to an undergraduate degree (Bachelors) are handled by the University's administration, and not by the Department. There are two ways of applying for admission to any degree:
Closing dates for applications: Applications open on 1 March of the year preceding the year of study. The closing dates for a bachelor in Town and Regional Planning is 30 June of each year.
Due to constraints on the University's facilities and the nature of the town and regional planning course, student numbers are limited to approximately 50 new undergraduate admissions per year. Meeting the minimum requirements of a programme, may therefore not be sufficient for ensuring admission. Students who meet these minimum admission requirements, but who cannot be offered a place immediately, will be placed on a waiting list. Prospective students are therefore encouraged to apply in good time.
Comprehensive information regarding registration and degree programme fees can be accessed online at: http://web.up.ac.za/default.asp?ipkCategoryID=20666&subid=20666&ipklookid=14&parentid=

You may also want to enquire from your local municipality who often offers bursaries/learnerships for Town and Regional Planning students. Many private companies advertise their bursaries throughout the year on the notice board at the Department.
