Mandela Day at Funanani Trust

A group of staff members of our Department spent their 67 minutes in honour of the legacy of Nelson Mandela at Funanani Trust in Mamelodi. Colleagues donated non-perishable food and clothing to the Moola Project. The focus of this project is on the socio-economic development of their service users. Service users 'earn' Moolas for participation in programmes presented at Funanani Trust, which they can use to acquire essential products available at the Moola shop. The colleagues not only donated the goods but also used their time at Funanani to sort and unpack the goods on the shelves at the shop. 

In her response to our Department, Ms Elmien Claassens, Chief Executive Officer of Funanani Trust, thanked the staff “not just your generosity … but also for engaging with us in the Moola shop. Spending some time with you in sorting the donated items, really made the day also memorable for us as well.”
