Dual Degree MA Program in Non-Proliferation Studies

Overview of Program

The State Institute of International Relations of Moscow (MGIMO) in partnership with the Middleburg Institute of International Studies in Monterrey (MISS) will be convening a Dual Studies Program on Nuclear Non- Proliferation, with the object to train experts in the field of nuclear disarmament. 

The two-year progam begins each fall semester (1 September) and is an innovative education product of outstanding quality, combining the best academics and practitioners. It provides comprehensive training in the field of nuclear nonprolferation and represents a unique opportunity for aspiring students from all over the world. One of the prgrams priorities is providing education for young specialists from nuclear newcomer countries. At the end of the two years, students recieve two diplmas; one from MGIMO (Russia) in International Affairs with specialization in Weapons of Mass Desctruction, Non-Proflieration, Nuclear Policy and Global Security and one from MISS (United States) in Non-Proliferation and Terrorism Studies. 

Entry Requirements

The MIIS/MGIMO Dual Degree program is open to applicants of all nationalities, including those with little or no profressional experience

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 3.0 GPA or equivalent
  • IELTS 6.5/ TOEFL 79 (IBT)

Application Deadline

Prospective students are encouraged to apply to the dual-degree program through the MISS application system.

  • For the next term (2018-2020), deadline is 5 June 2018
  • For the term 2019-2021, the deadline is 15 June 2019
  • Merit and need-based scholarship are offered by MIIIS.
