The University of Pretoria's Department of Nuclear Medicine hosted the IAEA Regional Training course (AFRA) on the role of Nuclear Medicine in Endocrine disease and Infection & Inflammation on 6-10 December 2010.
Speakers included both national- and international experts on various aspects of the above-mentioned topics as well as local clinicians' perspectives. The expert panel consisted of Prof G Mariani from the University of Pisa (Italy), Prof C Van De Wiele from the University of Ghent (Belgium),Prof J Zaknun from the IAEA (Vienna) and Prof MM Sathekge (UP).
More than 20 participants from all over Africa attended and greatly benefited from this workshop.
