The Rock Art of Southern Africa by J.D Lewis-Williams.

Dr Lewis-Williams undertakes a broad survey of the rock art of Southern Africa. He discusses the discovery, distribution and age of both rock painting and rock engravings and provides a brief account of their social and economic context. This lavishly illustrated book provides a valuable introduction to a little-known art tradition. It will appeal to the general reader with an interest in Africa and archaeology as well as to students, scholars and teachers in these subjects.
