About the Department of Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery

 

The Department of Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery strives to:

  • promote education in Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery for undergraduate students in dentistry and medicine on a cognitive and psychometric level
  • promote relevant research applicable to Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery for the advancement of the speciality and related fields
  • provide an interceptive and rehabilitative patient care service to patients, for:
    • basic treatment in:
      • Exodontia
      • Dento-Alveolar Surgery
    • advanced treatment from various provinces in South Africa in:
      • Cranio-Facial Traumatology
      • Pre-prosthodontic Surgery
      • Surgical Pathology Oncology
      • Temporomandibular Joint and Facial Pain
      • Orthognatic, Cranio-Facial Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
      • Facial Cleft Deformities
  • render a super-specialised service to the entire health profession.
   



The Department of Maxillo-, Facial- and Oral Surgery is situated on the Ground level of the Oral-and-Dental Hospital, Corner of Bophelo- and Dr Savage Road, Prinshoff, Pretoria.
