Overview

The TuksFencing Club was established in 1950 and celebrated its 70th anniversary of excellence and existence in 2020.

Since then, the club has delivered several Olympic and World Championship fencers, as well as SA champions.

The club is affiliated with the Gauteng Fencing Association (GFA), which in turn is an affiliate of the Fencing Federation of South Africa (FFSA). In addition, the club also serves athletes competing in Multi-Disciplinary Sport (MDS) who are affiliated with the South African Modern Pentathlon Association (SAMPA).

Although the sport of fencing comprises three (3) disciplines/weapons, TuksFencing is an Epee-only club. Fencing is the fastest refereed sport and apart from improving fitness, the sport greatly improves agility, fast reaction, and tactical thinking.
