C.I.V.M.E honours Prof Dietmar Holm with core member position for the Africa region

The Faculty’s Deputy Dean: Teaching and Learning, Prof Dietmar Holm was honoured by the Council on International Veterinary Medical Education (C.I.V.M.E.) who invited him to accept a core member position until March 2021 to serve the Africa region. The C.I.V.M.E. is an initiative of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (A.A.V.M.C.). Prof Holm recently accepted and affirmed this position during a scheduled WebEx conference call.

The C.I.V.M.E, with its headquarters in Washington D.C, acts in the interest of veterinary medicine’s distinct contribution to global health and well-being and aims to advance high quality veterinary education internationally through enabling and empowering best practice. Among others, the Council provides a means for communication and collaboration that advances veterinary education around the world and facilitates collaboration amongst educational researchers.

Prof Holm is positive that this position will strengthen the Faculty’s international presence, and will position the Faculty well in the International Veterinary Education community to continue developing its vision of becoming pivotal in improving Veterinary Education in Africa.
