Prof Sunil Maharaj elected Junior Vice President of SAIEE

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT), Prof Sunil Maharaj, has recently been elected the Junior Vice President for the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers’ (SAIEE’s) for 2018.

The South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) is a professional association representing electrical and electronic engineers, technologists and technicians in Southern Africa. Prof Maharaj has been a long time member of SAIEE and is recognised for his valuable contribution to this field.

In his position as Sentech Chair in Broadband Wireless Multimedia Communications, he established a woman in engineering initiative through which he supports female learners to attend the EBIT Week hosted by the Faculty biannually.
