Welcome

The Engineering Augmented Degree (ENGAGE) Programme, offered in the University of Pretoria’s EBIT Faculty, is a structured five-year degree. This Programme provides scaffolded support to students who have potential but lack the educational background to excel in their degree scheme. The transition from school to university can be challenging due to the high workload, fast pace, and difficult academic modules. The ENGAGE Programme has specifically been designed to assist students in adapting to these pressures by scaffolding the transition from school to university and allowing students to build solid foundations in the basic and fundamental engineering sciences.

Academic support is provided through technical modules that operate in conjunction with and parallel to the mainstream degree’s first-year modules. The Programme also affords students the opportunity to grow their professional competencies through a module designed to teach, develop, and refine key literacies and practices. The ENGAGE Programme is available in all of the nine engineering disciplines on offer at the University of Pretoria.
