These journals create an opportunity for young and upcoming researchers to publish articles on issues relevant to South Africa. All journals in the faculty are sustained through partnership with professional bodies and publishers. Scroll down for more information.

The African Journal of Public Affairs (AJPA)

The African Journal of Public Affairs is a bi-annual journal issued on behalf of the African Consortium of Public Administration. The purpose of the journal is to further the understanding of the theory and practice of public affairs by publishing articles of interest to practitioners and scholars in English.

The Journal for Public Administration

The Journal of Public Administration is a quarterly journal is issued on behalf of the South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM).


Meditari Accountancy Research serves to enhance research in accountancy, accountancy education and related disciplines. We provide a vehicle for the publication of the research findings of researchersactive in these disciplines, regardless of the affiliations of such researchers.

South African Journal for Entrepreneurship and Small Business

The Southern African Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (SAJESBM) is a peer-reviewed journal of the Department of Business Management at the University of Pretoria. This journal is aimed at providing practical guidance and empirical evidence to researchers and practitioners specialising in the entrepreneurial and business management fields. The journal provides a communication forum to advance entrepreneurship, innovation, small business management and family business theory, as well as the application thereof in practice. Its aim is the improvement and further development of these fields and it is designed to appeal to both practitioners and academics. A double-blind review process is followed, supported by a national and international Editorial Review Board.

South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences (SAJEMS)

The South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences (SAJEMS) is a leading
publication for interdisciplinary research in economic and management sciences, with a
special focus on the African continent. SAJEMS publishes and disseminates academic
articles that contribute to the understanding of African markets and the behaviour of
economic agents operating in those markets, including consumers, firms and regulators. In
addition to applied research on African markets and market participants, the editorial board
invites authors to submit interdisciplinary research that breaks down common intellectual silos and prepares a new path for debate on the operation and development of markets in and
around Africa.
