Important Note

Please note: South Africans must provide their biometrics (fingerprints and facial photograph) as part of their visa application for Nigeria.

All applicants must come in person with an OIS appointment slip for their biographic details to be captured. Please confirm with OIS Services.

All applications to be submitted to OIS Services in Johannesburg.
The centre is operated by OIS (Online Intergrated Solutions), an official partner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Johannesburg. See website:www.oisservices.com to read through the checklist of the specific requirements for your chosen visa, simply click the relevant link. You will also be provided with the option to download or print out a copy of your chosen checklist. Travellers can complete their application online and schedule an appointment at the centre, which is located in Rosebank (see address below).

Note: 48 hour visa on arrival can be obtained through The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

Application and Payment Guidelines

Entry Visa/Freezone Guidelines:

  1. Visit the Home page of Nigeria Immigration Portal
  2. Locate & click on the appropriate application form to start the process:
    - Entry Visa/Freezone Application Form
  3. Fill the Application form; check the ' I ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS FORM ' check box.
  4. Click on 'Submit Application' button to view ‘Applicant details page’
  5. Click on “Proceed to Online Payment”
  6. Click to select Payment Currency “Pay in Dollars” option then Click on ‘Continue’ button

For payment outside of Nigeria:

  • If you select a processing country other than Nigeria, your payment will be in US Dollars. You will be re-directed to an approved payment platform to complete your application and make your payment in US Dollars.
  • Please take your visa payment receipts, passport and other documents to the Nigerian Embassy in your country of abode on your slated interview date for your visa.
  • Please note that you can reschedule your interview date to the next available date by sending your Application id, reference no. and the proposed date to support mail address nis-support@newworkssolution.com

Cash payments for visa applications is prohibited by order of Nigeria Immigration Service. Travellers must present proof of payment in the form of a printed payment receipt AND acknowledgement slip, visas paid for in cash will NOT be accepted upon arrival.

Requirements/Delay

Requirements for the issuance of Tourist Visa / Entry Permit

  1. Passport valid for not less than 6 months and must have at least two (2) blank visa pages
  2. Complete visa application form online www.innovate1services.com Once completed this must be printed out, signed and dated by the applicant
  3. Two recent passport sized photographs (35x40mm) and a photocopy of the applicant's data page
  4. Print payment and acknowledgement slips once online payment is complete
  5. Letter for confirmation of employment from the applicant's employers
  6. Proof of hotel reservation in Nigeria
  7. Photocopy of birth certificate for a minor and conscent letter from parents
  8. Evidence of enough funds to sustain stay in Nigeria. Three months official stamped bank statements not older than three weeks from your date of departure. For Tourist visa the account must not be less than 1850 USD and Business visa should not have less than 2850 USD
  9. Flight booking or copy of air ticket
  10. OIS appointment booking slip from OIS appointment booking website
  11. Letter of invitation by organization/inviter with valid telephone numbers. This must be addressed to the visa section, Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg. It must state the address where the applicant will be staying and must be signed and dated by the inviter accepting full immigration responsibility. Signature must match that of the inviters passport
  12. Copy of inviters valid passport, showing the data/signature page with the inviters' signature
  13. If married to a Nigerian, attach photocopy of marriage certificate

Requirements for the issuance of Business Visa / Entry Permit

  • While 1-10 above applies, self-sponsored business men may not require letter of invitation but will be required to show evidence of sufficient funds.

Requirements for the issuance of Transit Visa

  • Valid passport with minimum of 6 months validity
  • Valid visa to onward destination outside Nigeria
  • Confirmed Airline ticket to final destination
  • Evidence of funds

Requirements for the issuance of (STR) Child/Spouse Visa 

  • Valid passport with minimum of 6 months validity and must provide proof of residence in South Africa. Must have 2 blank facing pages. 
  • Complete visa application online, printed out, signed and dated 
  • Three recent passport sized photographs
  • Receipt of on-line payment receipt of visa fee
  • Three copies of Consent letter from both parents
  • Three copies of letter of Expatriate Company with valid telephone numbers
  • Three copies of passport datapage of both parents and of the child
  • Three copies of original birth certificate, showing names of both parents
  • Three copies of certificate of incorporation from the company in Nigeria
  • Three copies of credentials, certificates and curriculum vitae, all vetted by a relevant official of Nigerian High Commission/Embassy (English Certified translated copy where applicable).

Delay: Johannesburg: All categories of visa applications submitted via OIS (Online Intergrated Solutions), will be processed by the consulate within 48 hours.
Pretoria: Applications made at the High Commission, will be processed within 5 working days.
