The African Construction and Totally Concrete Expo took place on 16 and 17 May at Gallagher Estate, Midrand.  This expo is the annual meeting point for all professionals from the construction industry with more than 200 local and international exhibitors showcasing their latest innovations. 

The expo showcased many products and services offered by various industry stakeholders.  Further to this there were specific spaces dedicated to training and networking programmes such as keynote sessions, architectural essentials corner, contractor’s corner, demo corner, concrete corner, transformation corner and the digital innovation lounge.  One of the keynote speakers were the mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Mr Herman Mashaba.

The University of Pretoria, EBIT faculty, was invited to attend this expo as exhibitors this year.  The Department of Construction Economics participated in this initiative and attended the expo on behalf of the faculty.  The Construction Economic lecturers who attended the expo were able to network and meet with industry experts and see a number of new technologies and innovations. 

Representing EBIT at this expo gave good exposure to UP.
