Researchers in the Department of Chemical Pathology have identified new potential HIV protease inhibitors from compound libraries. Dr M. Islam, a postdoctoral fellow funded by the Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral fellowship scheme and working under Prof T.S. Pillay has identified seven new lead compounds for drug development.
The research is described in the Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling.
