Teaching Activities

The Centre for Veterinary Wildlife Research does not have academic status.The various degrees offered in wildlife are the responsibility of the Departments in the Faculty housing the disciplines. Staff members of the Centre nevertheless participate in teaching activities of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. They coordinate the undergraduate elective in Wildlife, Ostrich and Crocodile Health (WOC610). They also participate in postgraduate modules in the BVSc (Honours) and course work MSc (Tropical Animal Health) programmes, as well as the MSc (Veterinary Science) and PhD programmes of the academic departments.

The Masters programme for veterinarians (MMedVet)(Fer) which is recognised by the South Arfrican Veterinary Council (SAVC) for registration as a specialist veterinary wildlife practitioner, is coordinated by members of the Centre on behalf of the Department of Production Animal Studies.
