Inspiring greatness:

In life, it doesn’t matter where you come from. However, you are in control of where you are going and how you are going to get there.  EBIT Week offers the fundamental tools to help you reach your destination.

Men and women who achieve great things in life are invariably those who give a lot of thought to their own evolution and growth.  They become exceptional people by design, not by accident.  EBIT Week is part of a bigger picture, and the first step towards your bright future. We help learners make an informed decision with regard to any career they wish to pursue so they can find innovative ways to adapt to a rapidly changing world.

Great things never come from comfort zones!

Science is about knowing, Engineering is about doing!

EBIT week is a beneficial platform that allows learners to know what it means to be a university of Pretoria student in the fields of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology.
EBIT Week provides a clear understanding of each of these faculties and helps student make the right choice in their study career.
The reason why I attended Ebit week as a JCP student was to provide a meaningful assistance to learners, in making the right choice that will shape the rest of their lives.

Today as a mentor, This desire hasn’t changed. I would like to be among those who will motive and guide the next Albert Einstein or Bill Gate towards achieving his/her dream.
A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. This is what it means to be a student at this prestigious Institution.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should

EBIT Week strives to equip young learners with the tools required to make more informed decisions regarding degree choice and give these very students a taste of what university life is all about.

I began my journey with EBIT Week when I fulfilled the role of a Group Leader in 2018 and I enjoyed every second of it. I look at the students and I see a confused, high school version of myself back when I was in their shoes and the most rewarding part is knowing that they'll have the knowledge to make a better decision than what I did

Changing lives

EBIT week for me, is more than a week with mentors and learners being exposed to varsity life. For me it is a week where leaders are made, and equipped with the right mind-set for the future. It's a week that changed the lives of many of the learners we've had, by helping them to choose the right career path.

In my view, if all young South Africans had this opportunity, we would live in a developed country with people who do what they love and are willing to go the extra mile for their careers.  As one of the 2015 leaders, I thought to myself: let me not do EBIT week as the JCP module, but be part of changing the lives of young learners.

Great is the human who has not lost his child like heart

EBIT week is a start to a brighter future where we all lend each other a helping hand to bring a better tomorrow. By giving the younger generations a first hand experience of what University has to offer and the many challenges that come with it, we are able to physically and mentally prepare new learners for their future.

Hearing all the questions from the learners not yet in University, I have come to realise that EBIT can give the learners the answers they are looking for to give them their first steps towards a greater understanding in their career choices and life further.
