Matiwane (died c.1830), son of Masumpa, was the chief of the amaNgwane, an Nguni-speaking tribe that lived at the headwaters of the White Umfolozi, in northern KwaZulu-Natal. The tribe was named after Matiwane's ancestor, Ngwane.

This book is Volume VII of the Ethnological Publications series and edited by N. J. van Warmelo using supplementary archival documents and other material.
