FEATURING - Southern African Garden Birds by Ulrich Oberprieler and Burger Cillié.

Library Special Collections Book of the Week (26 January 2026) Southern African Garden Birds by Ulrich Oberprieler and Burger Cillié.

The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:

Southern African Garden Birds by Ulrich Oberprieler and Burger Cillié.

A large variety of birds make suburban gardens their home. This gives bird lovers the opportunity to observe birds in the privacy of their own garden. Most gardens provide a suitable habitat for birds. It is also fairly easy to plan a garden that will attract birds and encourage them to make the garden their permanent home. In ‘Southern African Garden Birds’, the authors discuss various species of birds as well as factors relating to a bird-friendly garden including the provision of food and water and preferred plants. This is the ideal book for those who wish to increase their knowledge of our feathered urban friends.
